THE DUBAI FRAME EXPERIENCE

THE DUBAI FRAME COMPRISES A 150-METRE-HIGH, 93-METRE-WIDE STRUCTURE BEING BUILT TO RESEMBLE A HUGE PICTURE FRAME. THE LOCATION WAS CAREFULLY CHOSEN TO GIVE VISITORS THE BEST VIEW OF BOTH OLD AND NEW DUBAI.

MTE Studios was contracted to do the interior design, as well as conceptualize, design and implement an interactive an engaging visitor experience for the entire building, to make the Dubai Frame a successful and popular tourist destination. The storyline provides visitors with a window into the city’s rich past, accomplishments of the present, and a glimpse into Dubai’s ambitious future.

PAST GALLERY

The past gallery is a walk-through experience, with set-works, environmental video projections, interactive screens and props, artfully recreating Dubai as it was in the olden days. Characters in the experience are brought to life with customized holographic effects.

THE EXPERIENCE IS FURTHER ENHANCED BY THE INTEGRATION OF TRADITIONAL MUSIC, SOUND EFFECTS AND  SCENTS DISPERSED BY AROMATIC DIFFUSERS

OLD PHOTOGRAPHS ARE BROUGHT TO LIFE USING 2.5D IMAGE COMPOSITING

Ancient artifacts are revealed by virtual sand been wiped away.

THE 50M LONG SWITCHABLE GLASS FLOOR IS A GLOBAL FIRST

The step-sensitive switchable glass floor becomes transparent as visitors walk over it.

INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL ART

Four large customized LED prisms display artful 3-D animations, reflecting key elements of what makes Dubai’s a world class city. Visitors can interact with the prisms and create their own virtual art by swiping their hands over touch-foil glass curiosity beacons.

AN IMMERSIVE VORTEX TUNNEL WITH OPTICAL LIGHT EFFECTS TRANSPORTS VISITORS INTO THE FUTURE

FUTURE GALLERY

A large, curved 106 square meter video-projection screen provides visitors with an almost 360-degree panoramic view of Dubai, 50 years into the future. Fourteen high-definition laser-phosphor projectors work together, bringing this 6 minute 3D animation to life.

MOMENTS WALL

The ‘Moments’ interactive wall encourages visitors to make their mark and to share and browse Dubai Frame memories. The digital installation allows guests to view and filter photos gathered from social media platforms, which are plotted along a timeline based on their geo-location metadata.

INTERACTIVE WALL

Motion detection technology allows visitors to play the game and to interact.

KINETIC SCULPTURES

A suspended kinetic sculpture, resembling the wings of a falcon adorns the ceiling of the foyer. The ‘feathers’ are synchronized to move in graceful flowing patterns.
